How to Overcome Offence with Joyfulness: In this Kingdom there are conditions of walking in the blessing. Joyfulness is one of the magnificent ways in the Spirit of walking in the blessings of the kingdom of God, Nehemiah 8:10, Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
—
In the opening verse God is referring to this particular strength as God’s kind of strength and not human effort which is limited. Two Accounts Of God’s Strength
a. Salvation – Saving Grace
— Ephesians 2:8-9, 8–For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9–Not of works, lest any man should boast.
b. Gideon – God reduced his army from 32,000 to 300 for battle against the Midianites
— Judges 7:2, And the Lord said unto Gideon, the people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. Those who rely on God’s strength from day to day by being Joyful will find in Him a never-ending spring of energy. Be joyful void of bitterness and offence. Once you are in this world you will have every reason to be angry and bitter.
But being joyful is of the fruit of the Spirit according to the book of. Gal 5:22, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, that means Joyfulness is spiritual. It is not caused by events. you can be joyful or express joyfulness in the mist of negative circumstances.
Phil 4:4; Rejoice in the Lord always: and again, I say, Rejoice. Prov 17:22; A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. That means a condition can start from the Spirit and affect your health wise. that your spirit can be broken and the effect of the broken spirit can be seen in your health.
Ephesians 4:31-32; 31. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
THREE POWERFUL KEYS THAT HELP US TO REMAIN JOYFUL IN THE MIST OF NEGATIVE CIRCUMSTANCES
1. Always interpret Everything from the eyes of Gods sovereign plan.
This is the first key to remaining joyful free from bitterness. always interpret Everything no matter what happens to you from the Lense of God’s sovereign plan. Rom 8:28; And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Disappointment, Betrayal, Backbiting, Backstabbing, Falsehood. Our God has the ability to mix it together for our good.
Like a baker mixing all kinds of things to produce a good taste of bakery. No matter what happens to you especially negative things. the two questions you should ask yourself is.
— Do I love God?
—Am I working in Obedience to his word? If these two things are there find rest.
Gen 50:19-20; 19. And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? 20…But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
James 1:2-4; 2. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers’ temptations. 3.Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. Count it all joy. do not count it as a disappointment. Do not count it as a loss. this is where champions are made. Generals have been wounded because of offense… Apostle Paul screamed one day let no man trouble me for in my body I bear the Marks of Christ. 6:17;
He related the scars on him as God’s sovereign plan for him to bring him to a place of fulfilling his ministry successfully and he was the most Successful Disciples of Christ known to us. When you see people who go through offenses of all sorts and remain. they are the people who have mastered the secret of Joyfulness. Never wait for men to change to be happy. find joy in all circumstances. because that is where your strength lies.
2. When you go through any kind of unfavorable season always focus on the goodness of God.
Don’t focus on pain. Don’t focus on stories. Don’t focus on people who hurt you. focus on the goodness of God. When something negative happens to you always try to focus on the goodness of Got. It has a therapeutic effect to heal you. Focus creates feelings. focus on good things and you will feel good. your destiny depends on you and God… anytime you rejoice genuinely in the mist of your enemies. you heap coals of fire on them. Rom 12:20; Those who refuse to be healed becomes enemies of their destiny and the destiny of others.
nobody who is healed will wound others. Most people who wound others are people who are trying to be healed, and they do not know how to get healed so they inflict pain on others to find comfort…that is called transferred aggression. You must build yourself understanding the world of men so that nothing surprises you. For Good men can become wicked. wicked men can repent.
Jesus knew what is in men that is why He did not commit himself to men. He always applied the principal of God’s sovereign plan and the goodness of God for his. To be Joyful always.
3. Joy is one of the Powerful demonstrations of Faith.
1 Peter 1:8; Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: You have not seen it yes. The rent is not complete yet, but you express an unspeakable joy.
Conclusion
John 16:24
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
