Choose God’s will of Relentless Joy – The Compassion of Christ (Part v)

Philippians 4:4; [4] Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

    What is Compassion ?

Compassion is a deep awareness of the suffering of others, coupled with a desire to take away their pain and improve their well-being. It encompasses empathy, kindness, and understanding.

Matthew 14:13-14; [13] When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. [14] And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

Jesus Christ is a man of compassion, everything thing that he did, the deliverances and the healings that he performed was done out of compassion. He didn’t only show compassion, he also preached the message of compassion.

Luke 10:25-34; [25] And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” [26] He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it? ” [27] So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ” [28] And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.” [29] But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” [30] Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. [31] Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. [32] Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. [33] But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. [34] So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

Child of God, without compassion we can not be motivated to be a great blessing to the people around our sphere of influence. It takes a deep sense of being to heal the sick and to birth miracles , Compassion is the zone to work extraordinary or notable miracles. Child of God, we must completely yield to the spirit of God to function in this dimension.

A whole lot of times, the Lord allows his children to go through light afflictions so that they can develop a sense of compassion.

Hebrews 4:15; [15] For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

This is so, so that we can have the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, with a genuine desire to help and support those in need.

     Conclusion

Compassion is a powerful force that can motivate and bring people together, it activates healing, and creates extraordinary change in the life of the believer.Praise God!
