The Power behind your visible Progress – They shall become one flesh (Part 4)
The institution of marriage was introduced by God, right from the beginning, because God loves and supports family.
Child of God, God adopted us into sonship and members of the body of Christ to carry on with His will for us in this natural world.
The will of God for His children can be achieved when we understand the power behind our unity, which was carefully introduced through the scriptures below.
Genesis 2:18,22-24
[18]And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
[22]Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
[23]And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”
[24]Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
The above scripture is of a very high necessity because it did introduce the mystery behind the union of a man and a woman in the light of God’s will.
These explained above represents a symbol of unity, so God takes marriage very seriously because that is the very pattern that He introduced for the church.
The first recorded miracle of Jesus Christ of Nazareth was done in the marriage in Cana.
John 2:6-10
[6]Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.
[7]Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
[8]And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.
[9]When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.
[10]And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
Brethren, If Jesus Christ does not support marriage, He won’t have done anything to assist, when they ran out of wine, but He went out of His way to perform a miracle of turning water into wine. Hallelujah!
Child of God, we are chaste virgin adorned for the Lord, the day we gave our lives to Christ, a spiritual marriage took place.
2 Corinthians 11:2
[2]For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
So, brethren, you can see that marriage has Spiritual connotation, which was a pattern established by God for His church,
Please, do not confuse the church to be the building, since the time Jesus Christ died and resurrected the church became a living stone, a spiritual building, which is you and I.
1 Peter 2:5
[5]you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
The Formula of marriage
So, Child of God, we must maintain this laid down principle in other to have a glorious union as a representative of Jesus Christ in this natural world
Ephesians 5:22-25,28
[22]Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
[23]For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
[24]Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
[25]Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
[28]So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
Conclusion:
By clearly understanding the system of marriage, with respect to the original design of God from the beginning.
And of course When we do, it will create a consciousness in us that marriage should not be entered unknowingly or unadvisably, but marriage should be entered with the requisite knowledge.
That we have been made one flesh, in the union, as members of the body of Christ, the afformentioned supports that, we are enabled to subdue any attacks against our union, so that the father will be glorified in heaven. Praise God.
