Experiencing Victory on every side – The Promise Fulfilled – Part 8 – Pastor Odim Awa Odim: The birth of Christ introduced the promise fulfilled which abolished spiritual death and made for us an atonement with God. Saving us from our sinful nature.

Experiencing Victory on every side – The Promise Fulfilled. (Part VIII)

    1 Corinthians 15:57

[57]But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The whole world is celebrating the birth of Christ today, there is so much excitement in the atmosphere, it’s fun to see Christmas come around again.

Honestly, Child of God, with all the number of years that I have witnessed the celebration of Christ, I have observed, that, we have only reduced it to having fun, exchanging and buying gifts, cooking and feeding on continental dishes set on the table, friends and family traveling to unite again.

These things are good, but is it really about all that? I think the celebration of the birth of Christ should be a time to take a deep solace, it should be more than these physical or material things that we are so much adorned with, it is about a shift in the spiritual kingdom, it is about the time for the embodiment of God’s glory to be restored or fulfilled again in this earth realm for His children.

    Isaiah 9:6

[6]For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jesus Christ came to bring sons and daughters of God to their original place of authority, prior to His coming, men suffered spiritual death, because of the reign of Satan.

But His coming like Isaiah prophesied is to bring to us peace and to make us one with our God.

The birth of Christ was the beginning of the assurance of our Victory and glory because of the plan and purposes of God must be fulfilled in Christ to bring to us restoration. Hallelujah!

Why we should celebrate the birth of Christ.

    1.Great Light.

Men witnessed the embodiment of the wisdom of God in Christ.

    Matthew 4:16

[16]The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”

    1. Freedom

The birth of Christ gave us a new identity, relieved us from every bondage of condemnation

    Romans 8:2-3

[2]For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

[3]For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,

    1. Reconciliation

The birth of Christ introduced a new kind of job description in this kingdom which is the ministry of reconciliation.

    2 Corinthians 5:18

[18]Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

    1. Restoration

The birth of Christ introduced the promise fulfilled which abolished spiritual death and made for us an atonement with God. Saving us from our sinful nature.

    Matthew 1:21

[21]And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

    Conclusion:

The birth of Christ is a promise fulfilled in the restoration of mankind from the grip of Darkness to the kingdom of His dear son Jesus Christ.

So, we celebrate Christmas not only for the fun of the season though it is welcoming and good, but because we are no longer under the bondage of sin and death.

Child of God, it is best for us to know this, we celebrate the birth of Christ, because the Law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from every law of condemnation by changing our identity to the Righteousness in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!

So now, saints of God, there is no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus. Merry Christmas!
