God is more than enough – understanding the position of your rest. (Part 6)
2 Corinthians 9:8
[8]And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
God wants His children to operate from a position of rest, a position of rest is a position of authority, when we sons and daughters understand the mystery behind our victorious life in Christ Jesus.
Most of God’s people think rest is a position of resting the body, when we set out time to have some quietness and maybe sleep off on a cozy bed, that’s not it, we really have to understand that we are spirit, our position of rest is a spiritual term.
Matthew 11:28-30
[28]Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29]Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
[30]For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
In the scriptures above Jesus Christ was beaconing on his listeners who have not undergone the circumcision of the spirit, none of them have given their lives to Christ by then, so He was preaching a message of what should happen when He ascends to the father in resurrection and when the Holy Spirit is given, Jesus Christ assured us now by our coming to Him guarantees our rest. Hallelujah!
Child of God, the words of the Lord has done justice to this teaching, it proved to us that there is a place of rest in Christ Jesus. We cannot find rest in the word and its systems, we cannot find rest in our job, we cannot find rest in our business.
John 16:33
[33]These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
The kind of rest in question here, child of God, is the condition of your soul, the state of your inner being, of course this is the composition or constitution for our spiritual authority in this natural world.
God is the very essence of this rest, the devil is very much aware of what we are capable of achieving or doing, when we operate from this position of rest, that is why he has always wanted to put us in the position of ignorance so that he can always have control over our lives and destiny, God forbid .
Hosea 4:6
[6]My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
So, Child of God, from the scriptures above you will see how disastrous, it is for us when we operate in ignorance, I want you to say to yourself right now, I will not operate in ignorance again, I will never give room to the devil to have his foothold on me again, I will consistently give heed to the word of God. Hallelujah!

How to Maintain your Rest
By consistently feeding on the word of God.
You must make it a point of duty daily to read the word of God, the word of God floods your life with divine wisdom,
Proverbs 2:1-5
[1]My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you,
[2]So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding;
[3]Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding,
[4]If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures;
[5]Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.
Proverbs 9:10
[10]“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Child of God, without the wisdom of God, it is impossible for you to experience light or illumination in your Spirit, this is a high frequency of operations or authority in this kingdom, this can be found when we are committed to God’s word, when we submit to the authority of God’s word.
When we exercise our authority through Prayer.
Child of God, the devil will succeed in robbing you of your authority when he brings you into that state of prayerlessness, this is very awful, many children of God has suffered defeat from not engaging with their effective spiritual practice.
James 5:16-18
[16]Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
[17]Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.
[18]And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
Child of God, Prayer is very powerful, prayer assures us of rest, God cannot do anything for us except answers to prayers, when we engage in intense fervent prayer there is a God to answer.
Take a close look at the scriptures above how Elijah was empowered to subdue a kingdom through his prayers.
In case you doubt this story, whether it did happen, child of God everything that was written in the scriptures is real and for our learning.
Romans 15:4
[4]For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
Elijah did Pray and the heavens were shot up of rain for three and half years, Praise God.
1 Kings 17:1
[1]And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”
So, saints of God, this a proof that you are wired with the configuration of God to cause or to initiate God’s divine plan in this natural world.
Elijah is of the prophets, the old covenant, which is a shaky foundation, and he still operated in a position of rest through his prayers. How much more you who is of the new covenant, which is a better and solid covenant, who have received abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness, Hallelujah!
Romans 5:17
[17]For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Awesome, this scripture is a powerful reminder that we are a hybrid, so we ought to acknowledge our position in Christ, we ought to live by this new position, we ought to speak from a position of rest. Praise God.
Conclusion
Rest is a spiritual term, which we were guaranteed from the Lord, the day we received circumcision of the spirit or when we gave our lives to Christ.
This kind of rest is a position of authority and power, in Christ, where we seize from our natural strength, which is weak but we demonstrate the power of God through His strength.
We can only maintain this rest when we submit to the governing authority of God’s word, so that our spirit man will be consummated with God’s wisdom.
Then we are enabled to make uninterrupted decrees in the realm of the spirit through fervent prayer causing the kingdom of God to be established in this natural world. Praise God.
